Cold Weather Weight Loss: Heat Up With Multigrain Hot Cereal

cereal

HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal is a delicious, versatile, and nutritious food that will heat up your weight loss when the temperature drops. Coming in at only 210 calories per serving, and offering four whole grains, plus dried fruits, fiber and protein, HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal is a better choice than sugary grocery store substitutes. This cold weather weight loss tool is not just for frosty mornings – you can use it all year round! But take advantage of the season and try out some new “warm your bones” recipes to keep the scale moving.

The easiest way to prepare HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal is to pour it in a mug or bowl, add water, stir and microwave according to the directions. This preparation method takes just a couple of minutes, making it a perfect way to start your busy morning. But don’t limit yourself. Cereal is not just for breakfast anymore! HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal will lift you out of the three o’clock slump in your work day and can be just the sweet treat you need on a windy winter night.

You can create a wide variety of recipes by adding in fruit, spices, and HMR Shakes, and your Phase 2 options are unlimited. Here are some of best ways to use HMR Multigrain Cereal for full volume satisfaction and full throttle taste:

  • Healthy Solutions dieters and those in Phase 2 can add any type of fresh or cooked fruit. Try adding chopped apples, sliced bananas and cinnamon, canned peaches or thawed frozen berries. They can be stirred in prior to cooking or folded in after.
  • Make a warm fruit compote by gently cooking apples, pears or bananas in a little bit of water with some non-caloric syrup. Frozen strawberries, blueberries and mixed berries make a nice topping when cooked up as well (add sweetener as needed).
  • Mix up an HMR 70 Plus Pudding (prepared according to package directions) and dollop on top of HMR Multigrain Cereal (also prepared according to directions). Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, apple or pumpkin pie spice.

Many HMR dieters have used their culinary talents to create yummy baked goods using the cereal. But like similar foods found in "The Gap," these muffins, cakes and cookies concentrate calories. They may be healthier than store bought muffins, but they will not keep the scale moving as fast as their full-volume counterparts. Use these as “in the box” special treats instead of relying upon them as daily strategies.

It’s easy to keep HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal on hand for a quick pick-me-up any time. Keep a packet in your purse and a couple in your desk at work. Store a partial box in the trunk of your car and keep a few ready to go with your travel bag. You can grab a coffee cup and cook your cereal in the microwave at any convenience store.

HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal is one of the most user-friendly weight-loss foods whether you are at home on a snowy Sunday or on the road.

How will you use HMR Multigrain Hot Cereal to heat up your winter weight loss?

I'm with you, Sandi! I love my HMR cereal. Since going to Healthy Solutions (and now Phase 2) I love adding fresh raspberries and/or blueberries to the cooked cereal, topped by about a Tablespoon of sugar-free pancake syrup. It is so good! I think this cereal will be part of my life for years to come. (I know fresh fruit in January is a splurge, and I am fortunate to be able to get good fruit even in winter!)
