Q: How important is it to watch the fat in my diet?
A:

Fat has more than twice the calories of protein or carbohydrate.  So lowering your fat intake is the best way to eat fewer calories.  When you do eat fat, choose healthy unsaturated fats like olive or canola oil instead of saturated fats like meat and butter.  Avoid trans-fats common in processed foods, and eat foods rich in omega 3 & 6 fatty acids likde fish & flaxseeds.
