My Physical Activity Accomplishments: It's been a little over 11yrs since I made the decision to change my health and life style…
I was tired of being overweight, feeling tired, ugly and most importantly didn't have the energy to keep up with my two little girls! I had the help and resource that I needed at my feet this entire time. I started attending my Husband's family business "the Martial Arts/kickboxing gym."
I used to be shy about telling people my glory story, I didn't realize it was, it was a story to be shared and one that would inspire people.
I was once 80lbs overweight……to make this long story short I will cut down on all the details, but it really took a lot of hard work, commitment. I started going to the gym, started by going one day a week, that soon turned to four-five days a week, I had so much energy , soon my appearance started changing, other healthy habbits started forming, I was eating healthier. I started practicing the art of American Kenpo Karate which has been in the family business for over 40years. It is a form of traditional martial arts which uses quick moves and rapid fire succession intended to overwhelm an opponent, it is mostly known as a self defense system.
( ok so I got into the story too much:) )
I was asked to compete….…adrenaline rush! I did and I competed in the IKF (international kickboxing federation) womens division and won all my 3 matches, became the IKf Womens full contact kickboxing grand
champion!! After that I started teaching and assisting in the group classes offered at the gym. That truely has been my greatest accomplishment yet! Who would of thought?? I know I didn't, wining a Kickboxing bout, and 3 of them! That's one of the reasons why I am so positive & optimistic, anything is possible!
I seem to be busier these days, so now I just practice the art to keep myself fit.
Once again, anything is possible! :)
