Before I started HMR I could not lead the active life that I really wanted. I could barely do short hikes and pretty much avoided PA. Coupled with a stressful job, I was already heading to blood pressure problems and use of medications.
In Phase 1, I chose Decision Free diet because I was not equipped to make the decisions needed to guide my choices. In addition, I really needed to focus on PA and this allowed me to do it. I started PA with a stationary bike. My incentive was that I could watch my favorite show only while exercising. Once I had lost some weight and started building endurance, I took up Body Pump.
The first time I went to Body Pump I could not keep up. I could not do all of the dips, sits ups, lunges, etc. Now, I can not only keep up, I can do the exercises with the same weight as most folks in the class.
Nov. 2011 Update - My husband and I wrapped up a great vacation. We hiked over 50 miles in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Life just keeps getting lighter and better!
